An album of Americana and original songs, whose musical framework is as deep as it is wide, about hope, love, and peace in a variety of styles--folk, country, blues, gospel, southern soul, rock-a-billy, and classical--featuring Cheryl Anne Roach and Dawn Brooks on vocals, Cory Johnson on keyboards, Greg Leisz on guitars, banjo, dobro, and mandolin, Anthony Shadduck on string bass, and Greg Paxton on drums. This album does not fit easily into any one category. It is spiritual, meditative, quietly revelatory, but also passionate and energetic. The use of both historical and contemporary instruments gives the album a timeless feel. The music includes hymn interpretations, spirituals, folk melodies, as well as original songs. Intricately crafted, it is both rooted in the earth and consistently transcendent, with its feet planted in each world. The recording is an outgrowth of the friendship or the performers, whose hope is that the listener will be enveloped in its warmth.
