1989 Christmas Letter

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

1989 has been a happy year for Cheryl and Alan.  We met, fell in love,  and got married.  We first met on January 17.  Actually that was just our first date.  We met through the video dating service, Great Expectations, and had read about each other and seen each other's video before then.  Alan selected Cheryl and Cheryl agreed to meet him.  The first date was on January 17.  We were engaged on May 5 and married on July 2.  We were married outdoors in the back yard of Alan's brother's house in Agoura Hills, California in a beautiful wedding.  We spent two weeks on the islands of Hawaii and Kauai for the honeymoon.  We are very much in love!

Alan is still working at TRW and loving it.  He's a systems engineer in charge of algorithms on a challenging and interesting project.  He doesn't do much computer programming these days but does go to lots of meetings and write lots of documents and memos.  He's still running but more moderately -- more 10Ks and less marathons.  The lunch time run from TRW to the beach is still a standard.

Cheryl has left El Camino college and is doing all of her voice teaching at Loyola University.  She continues as the alto soloist at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church as well as performing with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Los Angeles Music Center Opera Company.

Best wishes to you in the new year!
